October is the time for Halloween in Ireland. Halloweeen is a time for kids (and adults!) to dress up in costume, usually with a ghostly theme. Children spend Halloween going door to door to their neighbours and playing 'Trick or Treat'. The idea being that if the kid does not get a treat from the owner, a trick will be played!
