There are two Golf Clubs in Kenmare
Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club:Famed for its spectacular scenery, its VIP playing guest list and the intoxicating hospitality of the Kerry people, the Ring of Kerry Golf & Country Club provides the perfect venue for any discerning golfer visiting Irelands South West.
A driving range is also available.
Kenmare Golf Club:This course is a real test of golf in a unique golfing environment and while it can be very exacting for a good golfer, it is never unfair to the weak.
The early holes stretch along the picturesque Roughty river estuary while the undulating ground of the remaining nine holes provide panoramic views of Kenmare Bay and the Roughty Valley.
Kenmare Lace
Demonstrations of Kenmare, Limerick, Carrickmacross crochet and lace making can be seen by visitors. All laces are for sale, as well as lace making materials and books.
There is also an antique exhibition at the centre.
Kenmare Angling & Sightseeing Cruises
Angling & sightseeing cruises taking groups of up to 10 people are offered. An exclusive charter of M.V. Sturdy is available for 2 hour, half day and full day cruises. The trip offers views of castles, seals, dolphins, mussel farms, salmon farms and a bird sanctuary.
Kenmare Angling and Sightseeing Cruises are based at Kenmare Pier, which is a 5 minute walk from Kenmare town on the Castletownbere road. Pick ups can be arranged from most piers on Kenmare Bay.
The Erin Giftstore
The Erin Giftstore specialises in quality Irish knitwear, giftware, pottery, jewellery and souvenirs.
The Giftstore has been producing handknit Aran sweaters under the Erin Knitwear label for the last 36 years.
Things to do and see in Kerry
Kerry Crafted Glass, Killarney
Go visit the only glassworks of it kind in Ireland, see the glassblower mould and blow each individual piece of glass using traditional tools. Dating back thousand of year, all the glass is made using 100 % recycled glass. Children are amazed to feel the heat and to get so close to the hot glass. A warm welcome awaits you at Kerry Glass. Kerry Film Festival
The Kerry Film Festival is Ireland’s premier short film festival attracting film makers from all over the world. The festival takes place annually, in October, at locations throughout Kerry including Tralee, Killarney, Dingle & Listowel. Screenings have taken place in many diverse venues such as cinemas, art centres, interpretative centres, disused buildings, pubs, polytunnels etc.
While the festival will feature full length films, workshops etc. the main event is a short film competition with awards presented by Ardmore Studios, Ireland. The festival holds a short script competition in association with the Cork Film Centre.
Killarney Outlet Centre
The Killarney Outlet Centre is situated in the heart of Ireland’s premier tourist location, adjacent to the Great Southern Hotel, Railway and Bus Station. Killarney Outlet Centre offers merchandise at a discount of between 30% and 50% off normal retail prices in all stores every day. The stock on sale in store represents out of season stock, cancelled orders, over runs and excess stock. The centre is anchored by Nike Factory Store and Blarney Woollen Mills. Other brands include Lowe Alpine, Patagonia, Paco and lots more.
Kerry Woollen Mills, Killarney
The full range of woollen manufacturing processes have been carried out in this location from early times right up to present day. Within the centre, fabric and clothing is both manufactured and retailed. The product range includes blankets, rugs, capes, throws, scarves, jackets and extensive knitwear ranges.
